Our Lady of Grace Youth and Young Adult Group traveled to the Villa of Our Lady Retreat House in Mt. Pocono, Pennsylvania for our annual High School Leadership Retreat.

Our young adult leaders planned and presented meetings to our high school members, the themes being diversity, communication and leadership.

In their meetings on diversity they discussed how we are all so very different and unique, created in the image of God.  They shared their feelings on how we can create a better world through these differences and how by learning to accept and love one another as St. Vincent accepted people from all walks of life to help with the apostolic works of his time and become the foundation of the Union of the Catholic Apostolate.

We also shared how we communicate in so many different ways and that in order to really connect with one another we must learn to listen to others, to respect and be open-minded to each others opinions and to respect what each individual thinks and feels.

As leaders we must us all of our communication skills and open ourselves to all those who are a part of our lives.  We must be able to see the worth of each individual and to appreciate all they have to offer, to share, to teach and to learn.

As we say in the Prayer for the Union of the Catholic Apostolate "keep us in living union with Jesus Christ, your Apostle, that we may grow together in love and use all possible means to spread faith and charity  in the world".
