On January 24, 2015 at Our Lady of Grace Church the members of the UAC invited the Eastern rite of the Melkite order to celebrate the Octave of the Epiphany with our parish.
The Melkites brought with them their icons, robes, liturgical readings, songs and a sharing of their traditions.  The liturgy was attended by members of our parish community, school, youth group and young adults along with members of the Melkite parish.
In their liturgy they use a lot of incense and many of the prayers are sung, but their liturgy is very similar to our except that it is said in Arabic.  As we approached the altar to receive the Eucharist it was small squares of bread dipped in wine and placed on our tongue, this was a new experience for most of us.
We all came together to follow in the footsteps of St. Vincent to promote the Octave of the Epiphany as an act of unity with our Orthodox brethren.
On February 27, 2015 Our Lady of Grace UAC and parish have been invited to the Melkite church with Fr . Peter celebrating our liturgy.
St. Vincent believed that all people are called to salvation, to know Christ and his saving message and to respond to it.  Pallotti, a man of his time, felt an urgency to further Christian unity.
